Dear Liquicitizens,
We are sad to announce that Liquicity Festival 2021 has been postponed. Yesterday we had another long meeting with the federal government and with tears in our eyes, we have to give up on July 16-17-18 as the date for Liquicity Festival 2021. The government approved all events from June 30th onwards, but later added a condition that events held before July 29th can’t exceed 24 hours. We tried to make this work with 3×24 hours and a testing facility on the festival site, but the government is putting immense pressure on us to postpone Liquicity Festival. In the meantime, we have been trying to secure an alternative date since January, but this turned out to be absolutely impossible. The local government did not approve any alternative dates in 2021 due to an under capacity at the police force and medical services. Liquicity Festival 2021 will be postponed to July 15-16-17, 2022.
All purchased tickets will remain valid for this new date; we of course hope you will keep your ticket! If you don’t want to attend Liquicity Festival on this new date, you can request a refund from July 1st – September 1st 2021 here: festival.liquicity.com/refund If you want to help us cover the transaction and refund costs, you can do so in the refund process. Extra tickets for 2022 will go on sale in September, depending on the amount of refunded tickets.
This is a huge blow to everybody involved, both emotionally and financially. Most of all, we feel incredibly sad for all of you who wanted nothing more than to attend Liquicity Festival this year. It feels extra harsh because Liquicity Festival would be allowed just 13 days later. A special shout out to our international visitors, we hope you are able to reduce the lost travel costs to a minimum.
To end on a more positive note: We’re working hard to organise a smaller (day or night) Liquicity event this summer, hopefully more info soon!
